When we were asked to go backstage at Fiddler on the Roof in the weeks leading up to The High Holy Days, we knew we wanted to capture and share the cast and production team’s own traditions and favorite memories, and we knew we wanted to we wanted to shape a memorable video that would stand out from other backstage stories. To do so, we worked with on camera hosts to shape a fast-moving and fun-filled look at backstage life and the Jewish holidays – mixing the show’s characters and the actors behind them in the video, tossing in witty one-liners and mini-games testing the cast’s knowledge of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. And when it came to picking the right character to host the video, who better to guide us backstage than the Rabbi Schmendelman and Mendel, the Rabbi’s son?
